Measurement Innovation offers a range of test & measurement training courses, delivered on-site at your premises.

Even though each course follows a clear structure, some degree of flexibility is possible with the format, depending on your requirements. For example, the courses can often be customised to suit your specific measurement application needs, and for hands-on sessions we can often adapt a course to work with your existing test equipment.

Spectrum Analyser Fundamentals (TRG-2010)
This course covers all of the essentials required to understand and make RF spectrum analyser measurements. Attendees should already have a reasonable understanding of RF theory and measurements. During the course of the presentation, the essentials of how how a swept-tuned superheterodyned spectrum analyser works, and how to get the best measurement performance when using one. Sensitivity (DANL), dynamic range, measurement accuracies and how to avoid mistakes when making measurements are covered. The material is not specific to any make/model of spectrum analyser. 3 hours on-site.

Network Analyser Fundamentals (TRG-2020)
This course covers all of the essentials required to make measurements with a modern Agilent or HP VNA (vector network analyser). Prior attendance of the Spectrum Analyser Fundamentals course is a pre-requisite for this course.  The essentials of how a VNA works, how it differs from a spectrum analyser, along with the essentials of 12-term vector error correction and how to perform a calibration are covered.  The material is specifically focussed on Agilent/HP models. 3 hours on-site.

8920 Measurement Fundamentals (TRG-2030)
This course suits beginners and intermediate-level users of 8920 RF Communications Test Sets. The first section covers the essentials for making good transmitter, receiver & repeater measurements. The second section looks at more advanced topics such as spectrum analyser operation, return-loss and insertion-loss measurements, and using RF Tools software to perform cable fault location, spectrum monitoring and site-survey measurements. The material is relevant to 8920A and 8920B models. 3 hours on-site.

RF Measurement Fundamentals (TRG-2060)
This course provides a basic introduction to the world of RF measurements. Attendees should already have an understanding of RF theory and be familiar with using DMMs, oscilloscopes and the like. The course covers the basics of RF counters, power meters, signal generators, spectrum analysers etc. The material is not specific to any make/model of instrument.  3 hours on-site.

Test & Measurement Fundamentals (TRG-2070)
This course covers the very basics of measurement theory and an introduction to some of the most common instruments used in electronics. Topics such as measurement accuracy, uncertainty and calibration are covered, and then applied to basic measurements on instruments such as DMM's, oscilloscopes and counters. The material is not specific to any make/model of instrument. 3 hours on-site.
